Why I've never gotten a flu shot:

I have never gotten a flu shot and here is why.

The effectiveness of the flu vaccine is exaggerated. The strains for the vaccine are selected a year in advance. That’s important for you to know because researchers guess on what strain will prevail each flu season. They have no other way of knowing. And if they guess wrong, the vaccine is useless.

So, many people who get the flu vaccine wind up getting the flu anyway. But it’s worse than that because the flu vaccine comes with some pretty significant toxins, like:
Thimerosal – a preservative used in multi-dose flu vaccines. It contains 49.6% mercury by weight.1 Mercury has been linked to brain injury, organ failure and muscle weakness.
Triton X-100 – a detergent and mercury derivative
Polysorbate 80 – a potential carcinogen
Formaldehyde – classified as a human carcinogen by the Environmental Protection Agency

What’s more, it really isn’t good for the very young or the very old – the folks who are supposed to need it most. For example, more people than ever age 70 and older are getting flu shots.2

Meanwhile, the University of Alberta did a study in which one group of people got a flu shot, and one didn’t. More people died in the group that didn’t get the vaccine … but when researchers looked more carefully and adjusted for other factors like existing health conditions, there was no difference between the groups.3
Children as young as six months are being recommended for flu shots, too. But get this: One study presented at an American Thoracic Society conference in San Diego revealed that children who took the flu vaccine had three times the risk of being hospitalized soon after taking the shot, compared to those who didn’t. For children with asthma, the number was even higher.

But this isn’t the only side effect of the flu vaccine. It can cause everything from headache, vomiting, fever and muscle aches to encephalitis, Guillain-Barre Syndrome4 and neurological disorders.

Here are some easy ways to avoid the flu without taking a shot:
Get a boost of Vitamin D. A study published in Nature Immunology this year found that T-cells – your body’s major infection fighters – don’t mobilize against viruses without vitamin D.5 Vitamin D essentially activates these cells and supercharges your immunity. So soak up at least 20 minutes of sun a day. And eat vitamin-D-rich foods like cod liver oil, eggs, milk and orange juice fortified with vitamin D, sardines, tuna, beef liver and Swiss cheese. Or you can supplement. I recommend at least 2,000 I.U.
Eat foods rich in Vitamin C. Eat plenty of citrus fruits, broccoli, beef steak and oysters. This will help you maintain a super strong immune system. You also can take supplements. I recommend 2,000 mg daily.
Add some immune-boosting herbs
Garlic is one of nature’s best germ killers.
Oregano oil and turmeric help prevent viruses and ease cold symptoms.
Green tea contains anti-bacterial properties.

Get plenty of rest. You need eight hours of sleep each day. By losing sleep, you rob your immune system of the energy it needs to fight infection,6 and you’ll catch more colds and flu viruses.
Exercise. Get some each day but don’t go overboard. Too much exercise can actually stress the body and weaken your immunity. Twenty minutes a day of varied intensity exercise is all you need.
Keep up your regular chiropractic adjustments, remember the nervous system controls the Immune system.
To Your Good Health.

Is Testosterone Therapy Safe?

A good question, and here's the answer:

Using testosterone therapy can be very, very safe. The trick is how you administer the testosterone.

FACT: Between 20 and 50 percent of middle-aged men have testosterone deficiency.

Many of these middle-aged men get testosterone-replacement therapy, but this is the big question. Is it safe?

Researchers from the Mayo Clinic, in a meta-analysis that combined the results of 51 studies, concluded that testosterone supplements increase hematocrit and hemoglobin, which thickens the blood. It also decreases HDL cholesterol (the blood GOOD cholesterol).

They have established that testosterone therapy did NOT result in premature death, prostate disease, urological problems, heart attack, stroke, or increased risk factors of cardiovascular disease.

Men can reduce the risk of thickening their blood by using testosterone creme. Unfortunately, injections cause “spikes in testosterone” that can stimulate the production of their red blood cells.

The results are right there in front of you. Testosterone therapy,in the form of crèmes, can benenefit many aging men. (Journal Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, 95: 2560-2575, 2010)

Is your insurance company telling the truth?

I got a notice from the insurance company from whom I purchase my own health insurance. The notice was something to the effect that, due to the rising costs of healthcare, my premiums were going to increase...again.

It just so happens that I am also a contracted provider for the same insurance company (which shall remain nameless). Ironically, I received a notice from the same company shortly thereafter stating that, due to the rising costs of healthcare, my contracted reimbursement rates that I have with them are being reduced...again.

Is it just me, or are things not adding up here. They are charging their members more, yet paying their doctors less. Is the rising cost of healthcare REALLY a rising cost, or is it the insurance companies trying to squeeze their customers and providers?

Furthermore, how would you feel if your current job continued paying you less and less every year for the exact same amount of work you've been doing all along? Not to mention all the extra pre-certifications and needless paperwork required to get claims paid.

I almost wish that insurance would disappear altogether. It would bring costs WAY down and eliminate all the beuracratic garbage with the insurance companies.

Food for thought...

Women with high blood sugar READ THIS.

If you’ve ever had problems with regulating your blood sugar, READ THIS.

A new study with baby fat cells (3T3-L1 cells) demonstrates that E3 (estriol) activates the genes that make visfatin, a hormone that comes from fat that helps to regulate blood sugar. That may not mean a lot to you yet, but once you read this short handout, it will. This study has far-reaching implications for women, as a tool, to help maintain healthier blood sugar levels.

Visfatin, like leptin, is a hormone produced by your FAT cells. The primary hormone produced in fat cells that regulates blood sugar is called adiponectin.
Since Visfatin is a hormone, it appears to help blood sugar metabolism under forms of potential stress. For example, as your abdominal size increases - visfatin levels rise, seemingly to help you metabolize blood sugar in the presence of being too FAT.

Similarly, Visfatin levels rise during pregnancy to help regulate your blood sugar during the pregnancy as extra weight is gained. When you lose your extra pounds of stomach FAT or after the weight gain of pregnancy is gone - then your Visfatin levels return to normal.

The new research shows that E3 (estriol) is the key hormone that activates Visfatin production during pregnancy, and its production is synergistically enhanced by Progesterone and E2 estradiol (but not activated by these other two sex hormones).
This means that women lacking in E3 (estriol) the good estrogen type hormone or (progesterone) during pregnancy are much more at risk for gestational diabetes.
However, E3 (estriol) levels, as well as (progesterone) levels, decline with age and often take a jolt after menopause. That’s the main reason you need a topical hormone crème like E3 (estriol).

Additionally, women who have had one or both ovaries removed will NOT make E3 (estriol) at the proper rate, so you definitely need to use a topical E3 (estriol) creme.

Women have a higher percentage of body FAT than men, so it makes sense that they have a way to regulate their blood sugar in the presence of this higher natural level of body FAT: it appears E3 (estriol) is the primary answer and progesterone is the secondary support to the E3 (estriol). I suggest you use both.
This study supports the theory that a decline in E3 (estriol) due to aging (or surgery) contributes to insulin resistance, abdominal weight gain, and a rise in fasting blood sugar levels. Both these crèmes are available at this office and you might be a candidate.

Statin Drugs and Their Effect on Your Testosterone Levels

As you already know, statin drugs such as Lipitor reduce total and LDL cholesterol and supposedly reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. Here’s the kicker though. As the use of statin drugs continues to increase everyday (and people have been taking statins for a prolonged period that is significantly longer than the time period required for testing drugs), the serious side effects of statins is affecting more and more people, than ever before.

Since the drug companies that manufacture these statins have become aware of the incidence of serious side effects, they added a WARNING to statin advertising that was NOT present in the earliest advertising for these drugs.
This warning states, “Unexplained muscle pain and weakness could be a sign of a rare, but serious side effect and should be reported to your doctor right away.”
People who take statin drugs need to heed this warning immediately because in extreme cases, the side effects of statins --- ‘can be fatal’.

Muscle pain and muscle weakness are two of the main side effects of statin drugs.
Italian researchers, in a study of more than 3,400 men treated for erectile dysfunction (ED), found that those taking statins had lower levels of total and FREE testosterone than men NOT taking the drugs.

Statins were linked to a “reduced testicular volume” and a higher incidence of symptoms linked to “LOW testosterone levels”. Women can have low testosterone levels too.

And here’s something most people don’t realize. Decreased strength is a common side effect of continued statin use. This might be linked to reduced testosterone levels.

One problem with this study was that statin users had double the rate of high blood pressure, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, which are also linked to low testosterone levels and ED. (Journal Sexual Medicine, 7: 154701556, 2010)

Make sure you’re using the hormone crèmes daily as these all natural, easy-to-apply homeopathic crèmes can help you overcome and balance your low testosterone levels.
