Change Anything: Part One

As promised last week, I'll be spending the next few weeks teaching you in several installments how you can change ANYTHING in your life.

Once we understand the forces that are acting on us, we no longer have to fall victim to them. Those who remain blind and outnumbered have almost no chance of success. Whether it be improving your health, stabilizing your finances, building a better marriage, or whatever challenges you can imagine...you can use these techniques to create positive, long-term changes in any area of your life you wish.

So here we go.

Strategy #1: Love What You Hate

Stop obsessing over the unpleasant aspects of what you’re working to accomplish, and focus your attention on the values you’re supporting. For instance, when sticking to a lower calorie diet, don’t undermine your own motivation by describing your choices as “starving” or “going without.” Instead, you’re “sticking to your promise” or “becoming healthier.” This difference in description may sound small, but words matter. They focus the brain on either positive or negative aspects of what you’re doing.

Next, increase personal motivation by turning chores into a game.

Example: Take a picture of your goal (a person with your ideal physique, for instance) and cut into small pieces. Each day you finish your assigned task (20 minute workout, for instance), add one block of your mosaic back to the picture. By breaking the goal into small wins, you can set a time frame and develop a meaningful way of keeping score that turns something noxious into something that can be fun.

Set a deadline for the completion of your goal. If you don't hit...who cares!? In fact, many times you won't hit the goal by your deadline, but at least you've got something concrete that you're working toward. And when you hit a bite-sized goal, it feels great and propels onward to the next one!

I'll be back soon with strategy #2.

Get ready to Change Anything!

You are NOT alone.

If you're like millions of people out there, you may be feeling some frustration in certain areas of your life. Whether it be a struggle with your health, career, family or marriage, your finances, social life, spirituality, or whatever else may come to mind, many of us are facing similar challenges in our lives.

Over the coming weeks, I'll be discussing with you how you can change LITERALLY anything in your life.

If you're marriage is on the rocks, you will see how you can take steps to improve it.

If you're overweight, I'll be giving you realistic examples of how you can change that.

If it's your financial situation that's got you down, I'll address that as well.

This isn't a "magic bullet" approach. It will take some work on your part, and the results will not only be worth it, but they can be truly IMPACTFUL on the lives of you, your friends, and your family.

I'm excited about the information I have to share with you!

Stay tuned, there will be much more to come...

Chiropractic still alive in Texas...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Thanks to your sustained support and the hard work of your elected officials and our lobby team in Austin, the Texas House overwhelmingly approved landmark chiropractic legislation Wednesday evening, May 25.

This would never have happened without the thousands of emails and phone calls YOU made to your elected representatives in Austin. We asked you multiple times to show your support and, each and every time we asked, you responded.

Austin heard your voice loud and clear. We cannot say "Thank You" enough.

Our chiropractic legislation is now included as part of Senate Bill 8, a broad package of health care measures that goes back to the Texas Senate for further consideration. So, the fight is not over yet.

But the House action was a huge, positive step.

Chiropractic profession in jeopardy in Texas

The Texas Medical Association (TMA) has taken legal action in an attempt to take away your ability to choose a Doctor of Chiropractic as your healthcare provider. TMA is claiming the law is unclear on whether your Doctor of Chiropractic is qualified to give you a diagnosis.

The solution is to make the law perfectly clear: Doctors of Chiropractic can diagnose, and Texans can choose the type of doctor they desire for their healthcare.

If you would rather be the one in charge of your own healthcare decisions instead of the TMA, go to this site and click on "Contact your state representative and senator":

Survey says: our new massage therapist ROCKS!!!

Good afternoon, I hope this message finds you in good spirits today.

I've been told for many years that we should offer massage therapy in my office. Well, I finally listened and brought on Katrina.

The response has been an overwhelming "YES!" from our patients. I've had numerous people tell me that, after going to MANY massage therapists over the years, they have gotten a better massage from Katrina than ever before.

Hey, if it's good enough for you, that's good enough for me!

Give us a holler to come and try her out, we're offering 25% off for anyone who schedules in the next two weeks. 972-292-0066 is the number.

Enjoy spring break next week!

DANGER: If you are considering HCG weight loss, watch this.

This story aired recently about HCG weight loss, which has become quite popular as of late. Check it out:

As I have always said, make sure that, if you are considering HCG weight loss, be sure to consult a doctor and get your HCG from a trusted source. You get what you pay for, and the proof is in the pudding!

Dr. Cox chymes in on Seroquel XR. You've GOT to be kidding!

Do you know anyone taking this medicine? The commercial is 1 minute and 31 seconds. The first 1 minute 14 seconds is spent listing all the side effects.

The list includes: thoughts of suicide (the drug can increase these in children, teens, and young adults), dementia patients have an increased risk of death, call your doctor if you have fever, stiff muscles or confusion, as these can be signs of a life threatening condition, uncontrollable muscle movements which could become permanent, high blood sugar leading to coma or death, increased cholesterol, weight gain, dizziness, impaired judgement, and trouble swallowing.

Are you kidding me? Am I the only one who sees a problem here? How can this be allowed to be promoted on television?

Sorry if I'm being abrasive, but this is crazy!

Just my two cents.

Watch for yourself:
